Over the Easter break we released a track recorded live at our recent concert at Ewenny Priory on our YouTube channel: William Byrd’s joyful motet “Laudibus in Sanctis”. Written in a madrigalian style, with evocative word-painting and dance rhythms, it’s an exuberant setting of Psalm 150. Have a listen to it here!
This was the first time we’d ever performed at Ewenny Priory Church – noted for having one of the finest acoustics in Wales – and we loved every minute of it. Despite the chilly winter weather, we received a lovely warm welcome from the Ewenny Arts Festival organisers (including some very well-received coffee and biscuits), and having such a large audience turn out for us on a cold February evening was the icing on the cake. We very much hope we’ll have the opportunity to perform at Ewenny again in the near future.
