Cantemus celebrates its first live singing in public since January 2020

Cantemus sang together in public for the first time in 18 months last weekend, as visiting choir at Hereford Cathedral. We sang four services at the cathedral that was home to our director, Huw Williams from 1995-98, when he was its Assistant Organist.

The music included Bach’s Komm, Jesu komm, Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D, Messiaen O Sacrum Convivium, Holst Te Deum and Howell’s haunting and beautiful Magnificat & Nunc Dimittis in B minor.

It was so wonderful to sing together again and we are very grateful to Hereford Cathedral who made us so welcome and looked after us so well. We sincerely hope that this will herald the return to a busy programme of music-making in the coming season!
